Hi spoonies. I hope everyone’s coping with 2015. I thought I’d start this post with an event for March, one I thought is apt for us spoonies – National Bed Month. For about the last six months I’ve spent a fair amount in mine, albeit not sleeping much, but I do know a comfy bed when I feel one.
Since 1990, The Sleep Council have made March the month to raise awareness about the importance of sleep and having the right bed for the job. According to their research, four out of five people complain of sleep disturbances or not enough sleep. Also, not enough sleep can contribute to Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes. You can read more of their facts and figures here. Although having a chronic illness can mean your body and brain thinks that daytime is night-time, and night-time is daytime, having a good, comfortable bed is essential for relaxing and helping your body feel comfortable and rested. They also a have a quiz to see if stress could be affecting your quality of sleep.
So, to this months pyjama edit. I’ve noticed that spring-like floral fabric seems to be coming now. Not the sort your granny wore, and not to make you look like a pair of curtains either, but some very pretty fabrics.
This nightshirt from Joules is reminiscent of Chinese blossom, and has covered buttons and velvet trim.
Carrying on with the Far East theme is this pretty satin kimono-style robe from John Lewis.
If you prefer something more subtle and comfortable, these soft knit pyjamas from Next can double as lounge-wear.
Next also have this lovely blue and white version too.
That’s it for this month. Next month I’ll be mentioning events for April and showing you more lovely nightwear.
