Today I’m in pain from a very busy day yesterday (for me anyhow). But despite the pain there’s a smile on my face. I actually went out. The second time this year. It was a spur of the moment decision when I saw an offer on Freecycle. When I saw the email I knew I had to have it – a stash of old knitting and sewing patterns. I was taking a chance as I needed to drive there and I hadn’t driven my car for some months. The chap I got them from said to be there after 6PM, so I was able to take my time getting ready. On looking at my car, it really needed to be washed. Would I be able to go anywhere as it hadn’t been driven for a while? It started first time – phew! So down to the car wash to get rid of the dust and cobwebs. Then I went to see my Mum and Dad who I hadn’t been to see for a while (we normally speak on Skype). I don’t think it was the car driving me yesterday, more my adrenalin. My Mum came with me to get the patterns. We almost didn’t find the house. I knew where I was going, but they lived off the beaten track in the New Forest. So we were looking at all the house names on the gates. It took about ¾ of an hour or so till we found it. I don’t how many times we must have passed it. The chap was nice and amenable, and I was a happy bunny going home with what felt like my crown jewels. That was the longest day I’ve done since Open Farm Sunday (8th June).
